Junior Youth Visit Art Ranck

Saturday, November 9, 2001, was a perfect day for a trip to the mountains. The Junior Youth enjoyed a visit with Art Ranck and then spent the afternoon hiking in the mountains near Mountain View Nursing Home where Art resides.The group of ten Junior Youth and four adults enjoyed the
beautiful mountain view from the gazebo at the home as we sang songs, read
scripture and prayed with Art. Another resident from the home joined us as well.
It was a blessing to visit with Art and to see the loving care shown to the
residents by the staff at the home .
Following our visit, we hiked over seven miles round trip on a
"moderate" scenic trail that ran along a river part of the way. (Later
in the evening when discovering some new muscles, some of us "older"
folks questioned the "moderate" rating of the hike.) We all made it to
the top of the mountain and were rewarded with a great view from an outcropping
of huge rocks which proved to be great fun. Even though we returned home very
tired, the day was very rewarding.
