Virginia Relief Sale

34 th Annual

Saturday, October 7, 2000

at the Rockingham Fair Grounds

Harrisonburg, VA

 

Rosalie Moyer and Ivan Lehman are our local representatives for the Relief Sale. Rosalie will be coordinating the pies, breads, cookies, and other baked products. The Women’s Outreach has completed a quilt and comforter which will be donated to the quilt auction. Ivan will be organizing the grinding of corn meal and whole wheat. Volunteers are needed the day of the sale to help grind and bag corn meal. The Girls Club will be helping to serve lunch from 10-12 noon.

The sale begins with a BBQ beef dinner at 4:30 on Friday evening, October 6. This will be followed by a Relief Sale dedication at 6:30 and country auction at 7:30 PM. On Saturday the schedule is as follows:

6-10:30 AM. ......Breakfast

9-10:30 AM. ......Auction of homemade furniture

10:00 AM. ......... Children’s auction

10:30 AM. ......... Auction begins for quilts and comforters

11:00 AM..............Lunch begins

12 Noon ..............Auction of paintings/ prints by local artists

Quilt auction resumes

 

Directions: Just south of Harrisonburg, take I-81 exit 243, go south on US 11 about 1-1/2 miles.

Homemade Pies

Pie pans are on the table in the lobby. Please do not make custard pies. Rosalie Moyer also has frozen pie crust ready to fill.

 

Cookies, Cakes and Candies

The following sell well: ginger cookies, whoopee pies, carmel icing cakes, peanut butter balls, oatmeal cookies w/o raisins. Please package by the dozen.

Homemade Breads
