The Fragrance
of Love
|
![]() |
Like
a bulb planted in the ground, when we give our lives to Christ, we are
buried with Him.
We die to ourselves so we can live for God.
Then the miracle takes place! The life within us responds to the warmth of God’s love. Our souls change from a bulb to a fragrant flower. As we respond to God’s love, we will become more like Him and His love will flow out from us as a sweet fragrance. And because of this sweet fragrance, the world will see that we know and love God. |
We
may look like small flowers with only a small area in our life devoted to loving
God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and loving our neighbor as ourselves.
We have a much larger area in our life in which love can be nurtured and
flow out to bless God and others.
At
times we may look like dried up flowers, though once lovely, we’ve allowed sin
to batter and blight our souls.
We’ve become dry and lifeless, and
the power of God’s love is stifled with our selfishness.
|
God
asks us to be the sweet fragrance of His love.
Allow others to rub up against us, take a deep breath, inhale the
aroma, and experience the transforming love of God. The fragrance of love is a gift we can give back to God. He loved us first. Allow that love to flow out from your life and be a blessing to others.
