Promesa School (Peru)
Fundraising Opportunities
of our plans to continue
partnering with Promesa School in Cusco, Peru.
Spiritual Leadership has designated purchase of property for the school
our special missions emphasis for this year and has asked the Shultzes’
Missionary Support Team to coordinate the effort.
We are joined by other churches and interested individuals in accepting
the God-sized goal of acquiring adequate space and facilities for this
outstanding school. Some
of the activities planned to help raise funds are as follows: Friday, March 2 – Kick-off Brunswick Stew meal and
program at PMC.
The Glen Landis family will bless us with music after the supper. Sunday, March 4 – Informal, light lunch available after
church for those who would like to continue
fellowshipping and avoid dishes at home.
We plan to make this a first-Sunday-of-the-month
tradition. Third Sunday each month – Special offering taken up
by the children in addition to the regular church offering during the 11:00
worship service. Saturday, April 21 – Yard/bake sale, with
contributors setting up and selling at their own tables
in the yard at PMC. August –Benefit meal with program by Brethren Four and silent auction
while the Shultzes are in the States. More
on this later. The Shultz MST wants the Promesa Project to be adopted as widely as
possible; we hope everyone at PMC will become infected with the tremendous
vision and enthusiasm the Peru Mennonite Church has for providing superior
educational opportunities (See Promesa School article).
Encourage your small groups to think of creative ways to raise funds for
the property and to support the Shultz family.
Surely, we will receive untold blessings as we partner with our brothers
and sisters in this venture.
