Prison Library
| WOW! Thanks to you
all, the library at the Montgomery Women’s Facility has a great
beginning. We now have 220 books in circulation and another 100 (hardback
books), which will be added after the library building is finished. We
allow the ladies to keep a book for one week, and then they may check out
another. Anna and I stand at a counter where a line forms to check in
books; then the line forms again to check out a book. We are moving so
fast and furiously to keep up that we get very warm and often have to shed
outer layers! The ladies are
so excited about getting a new book to read that they often crowd in
around us. We enjoy their excitement most of the time but you know
how hot-natured I am!!! Today one of the ladies brought us ice
water (you can smile right here). I am glad to staff the library,
but we’re glad when it is over. Every week the ladies tell us how
grateful they are to have this library; they recognize how much work it is
for us, but their appreciation makes it all worthwhile.

Donna and Anna |
We bargain shop for books about once a
week at thrift stores, Christian book stores, CBD, retail store sales and the
local used book store. We almost have the Left Behind and Mitford series
completed. We could not have been this far along without your help, and I want
you to know we appreciate every book you sent.
The team that came for the We Care Crusade brought some more books for
us. Thank-you.
Just as a side note, I want you to know
that I have enjoyed praying with you as you used the church prayer book for
January. I prayed that each of you will be encouraged knowing others are
praying for you to be built up in the faith.
God is good, and I praise Him for His
goodness to me.
Much Love,
Donna
