From the Pastor’s Heart…

Nothing Undone”

Joshua 11:15, “As the Lord had commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did.  He left nothing undone of all that the Lord had commanded Moses.”

It seems that lately I’ve been a little more attuned to some of my faults. One that has been on my mind is my procrastination. It seems to me that I am either way too busy; am a bad planner; don’t manage my time well; or I just put stuff off. I’m afraid its more of the later and I just tend to put things off.

Reading through Joshua, I was struck by this verse about him, “He left nothing undone of all that the Lord had commanded Moses.” Joshua left nothing undone.  What does that mean? It means that Joshua was faithful to fulfill all that God had asked Him to do through Moses. He left nothing undone. I read that and I felt like I had a dozen things undone.  I really don’t need some new knowledge or revelation.  I just need to do what is before me and as the saying goes, “git-r-done”.

Procrastination will probably always be a tendency of mine, but when it comes to godly obedience my prayer is that I would be faithful to be timelier in doing the things I should do.  Could it be that procrastination in one’s spiritual life is apathy, rebellion, or what? It probably is sin and I confess it as such. Joshua left nothing undone, it’s my prayer as well.

Your pastor, Tim.
