Mission Outreach

Operation Christmas Child

Vivian Hertzler delivered a total of 629 shoe boxes to   Operation Christmas Child: 127 from our congregation and 502 from the Powhatan community.

Croatia Mission

On December 30, 2006, Miles, Sharon, Steven and Stephanie Pruett, Amy Duncan and 15 others from Richmond Christian School will board a plane to Croatia. We will be ministering to the Roma Gypsies who are living in poverty and despair. We will have the privilege of delivering Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes to the children of Croatia. A college interpreter will go with us to help us share the good news of Jesus Christ. We also have plans to deliver clothing, toiletries, candy, etc. to the families.

On our way home, we will have one day to tour Vienna, Austria. We ask for your prayers that God would prepare the way, and we would allow God to work through us in mighty ways. We thank the Church family for their prayers and financial support for this ministry.

  Kennell Family Traveling to Peru

The Kennell family is looking forward to spending Christmas and the New Year in Peru.  On December 24, they are flying from Richmond International Airport heading for  Cusco, Peru.  It will be a long 25 hour flight with a seven hour layover in Houston, Texas.

Tim and Bev have been asked to speak at a 5 day missionary retreat on “Time Management”.  After arriving at Cusco they will have an 8 hour bus ride to the  resort.  Renel and Kayley are busy preparing fun and inspirational  things to do with the children.  Each year the missionary couples in Cusco have a 5 day retreat for rest and spiritual renewal.  This year it was the Shultz’s turn to invite a speaker.  Two hours each day will be for spiritual input and the rest for fun and relaxation.

Following the retreat the Kennells will go to Cusco where they will spend almost 2 days with the Shultz’s in their home and community before returning home January 2.
