Mexico was good!

This past December I was able to go on a short term missions trip to Matamoros, Mexico.  We did many different things while we were there, including making gift bags for the children we would be ministering to, working at a soup kitchen, going to a hospital and a children’s hospital where we prayed for the patients, going to church every night both giving the program and listening.  We also walked up and down some of the streets handing out sandwiches and drinks to the orphans.

Most of the roads in Mexico were dirt and it had been raining for several days right before we got there.  So when we were walking around telling people to come to the soup kitchen to eat, you can just imagine all the mud.  In some places it came up past our ankles.

Each day we started out with a plan of what we were going to do, but we quickly learned that God completely changes our plans in order to make them His plans.  I’m very glad I went to Mexico.  It was an experience I will never forget.
