Our Mission:

                 To inform the congregation and the community of the work of the Powhatan Mennonite Church, its services, special events and projects.

 The Communications Team is now operating in full mode.  We are excited to be a part of the work God is and will be doing in our congregation.  We have embraced a slogan to help communicate our purpose: “Helping us feel good about our church.” 

Ten years ago that was one of my reasons for  starting  the Menno-Notes.  I felt if people knew more about what was happening and could be encouraged by the people and  activities of the congregation, we would feel excited (good) about our church.

Of course we realize that God gets all the glory.  It is His church.  We are only here to serve His purpose, but I want to feel good about it.

You will be hearing a lot out of us because our job is to keep you informed.

Our current projects:

Church Directory:

                 We are excited to be working on a new church directory.  It will be different from past directories, and we will be doing it ourselves.  It will be a 3-ring notebook so pages can be updated easily.  Each family page will include  home address, phone number, email address, hobbies, birthdays, and anniversaries.  The directory will also include the phone tree, prayer chain, church structure, teachers, and our history.  Carmen will take and collect pictures, Kayley will assemble the family information, and Pat will compile the other lists and information. Robert and Candy will type the information into the book.  There will be a charge to cover  costs. We hope to keep it around $7.00

Announcements:

Our team will be happy to assist in promoting special events, such as retreats and music programs.  Let us know!

We will keep  the church sign updated with current information.   WANTED:  a person to assist with this job.
