A Message from Kimuka, Africa

Alyssa Miller, who joined Sheila and I on our mission trip last summer to Africa went again this year. She writes an update:

"I returned almost a week ago and thought that I would let you know how people are doing in the village. We spent quite a bit of our time fellowshipping in neighboring villages. However, most of our time was spent at Mama Moses’ home and with Simon’s family.

The oldest four are now in school and the back packs you sent with me filled with supplies were such a blessing. Little Soipere, still ever so small for seven years old, is home with the two youngest. Like last summer, my roommate and I wanted to give her a bath, but the opportunity never arose. She tends to be over-looked and "picked on" by the others. Our prayers are for the best in life for her.

On a lighter and happier note, Baby Joshua is now walking and saying a few words. The rain has finally come to Kimuka and everything is so green, I can hardly believe it is the same place. Mama Moses, too, is doing well and still enjoys entertaining company.

Miriram (mother of the children), came to me as I was leaving and asked me to greet each of you all. She mentioned all of you by name and even started crying. I think that as a Masaai woman, she really doesn’t know what to say when people show such interest in her family. You can be sure the the time spent there will never be forgotten."

If you would like to help out Simon and their family, please see Sheila or me. They are always in need of small household items and most importantly prayer as they strive to raise their growing family in a Godly way. And again, Sheila and I are grateful for the support this church showed us and we know that this trip will be in our hearts forever.
