| Greetings from the land of snow and ice. After an exciting
and busy several months I am way past due writing ya'll and letting you
have a glimpse of what is going on up here. The first part of January a
group of guys from Pennsylvania came for a week to cut next year’s fire
wood. In two days we had twenty cords of wood cut and ready for hauling.
We were then able to haul in ten cords and do some remodeling of two
cabins before they left. Thank you, Jesus! That weekend we had a teen camp
for the Pik. teens. It was put on by a team from B.C. The camp went very
well from what I saw. Not being involved, I'm sure I missed some good
stuff. The following week we had three guys from Virginia. that came to
bless us with prophesy training and other work. They did the same training
in Pik. as well. It was amazing to find out just how much God wants to
talk to us and through us; we just need to listen. It was definitely a
growing and encouraging week. The last weekend of January we had a camp for
the 6th graders of Pik. It was a good, fun weekend of singing songs and
playing hockey and dodge ball. The kids really got into the songs,
especially "Jesus is My Best Friend." We pray the songs stay
with the kids, and as they sing them at home, the songs will become real
for them as well as their families. Then this weekend we had the 7th
graders. Quite a few of the kids were at a camp last year so it was fun to
make contact with them again. They were very attentive in chapel,
especially to the salvation plan. It was very encouraging to see the kids
singing as well. One cabin of girls even got up in front of everyone and
sang a song in four languages (English, German, Chinese, and Objiwa). Half
of the counselors were from Germany which made things interesting. It was
neat to see three cultures come together and worship one God. So this is a
tiny glimpse of what God has going on at Stormer Lake, Ontario. May God
bless you all as ya'll have surely blessed me by making it possible to
experience this moving of God in the Objiwa nation. |
