Brian and
Julia (Shultz) King, Kenya, have started the adoption process for Jeremy
Evans, born July 8, 2003. Julia
attended PMC in the late ‘70s and ‘80s.
Julia writes…”Jeremy was found by a good Samaritan under a
tree, taken to the police, who admitted him the same day to New Life Home
ICU where I volunteer. He was
found to have HIV antibodies from his mother.
I met him when he was a month old and having respiratory
difficulty, on oxygen and IV therapy.
I held him and patted his back, helping him cough up mucous.
In a few months I started to think he was very special. Every time
I worked I would take care of him. It
wasn’t until after his first birthday that he was found to be HIV
negative, and we started to discuss adopting him with our family.
Catherine and Colin have been adjusting well as Jeremy is making
himself at home with us. He is learning to talk and is becoming steady on
his feet. He is active and likes to be outside.
We have completed the required 3 months of foster care.
We invite you to pray for us as we adjust as a family and proceed
with the adoption process, which will take about 6 months.”
