Glen Sell Glen and his wife, Ethel, reside near Manheim, PA. They were married in 1957, and have four children and nine grandchildren. They are members of the East Petersburg Mennonite Church. Glen attended Millersville University in Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Eastern Mennonite University and Seminary in Virginia. He also has a degree in nursing from Rosewood State Training School in Maryland. Glen was called to the ministry in 1955. Four years later he began serving as an itinerant evangelist in addition to having interim pastoral responsibilities at several churches in the states of Maryland and Pennsylvania. For 15 plus years, until his retirement in December of 2000, he was employed as an evangelist, newspaper columnist, family counselor and teacher under the auspices of Gateway Evangelistic Ministries (GEM). During 12 of those years he was a visiting instructor six weeks each year at the Rosedale Bible College in Ohio where numerous ones in the congregation sat under his teaching. He has also given oversight to a ministry he and Ethel began in Wales. His work has been both international and interdenominational. Prior to his employment with GEM, he served as a nursing home administrator, chaplain and Bible teacher for 15 years at Lancaster Mennonite High School During his school tenure he enjoyed a sabbatical year working as a pastoral counselor at the Philhaven Psychiatric Hospital. He has also done extensive writing and was announcer for several religious broadcasts. Since retiring from GEM, Glen continues having a scaled back preaching and teaching ministry, along with enjoying the privilege of giving interim bishop oversight to five churches in the Juniata District of Lancaster Mennonite Conference. Other activities include spending part of each week managing the local Choice Books warehouse and assisting his wife in operating an International Handcrafts stand one day a week at a local country market. Hobbies include reading, gardening, crossword puzzles and fishing.
