Freedom for the Prodigals

by Meghan Schaefer

There the young man stood with a shine in his eyes

Where he waited for the answer to his request

"It's yours, take it son" was his father's reply

Do with it what you think is best.

Head held high, the son left that day

With his pride because of all that he owned

Was his not to have, to hold, and to spend

This he did in a wild world he roamed.

Day after long day, the father looked down that road

Searching and longing for his lost son

The horizon looked bleak and the view had turned gray

But never would he admit the enemy had won.

Then the day finally came when his son did come home

Beaten down by his loss and his shame

But his father embraced him with tears in his eyes

"Oh my son," he cried "I'll call you by name."

There are many lost souls still out roaming this world

Searching are they for the light

But down in that spiraling darkness they wander

A way out of their sin not in sight.

But there's hope and there's peace if they'll only rest in your arms

Repenting of sins present and past

Tapping into your love, forgiveness they'll find

A true father and a love that will last.

Pray for the prodigals

Freedom for the prodigals....

Lord you love the prodigals.

Luke 23:43

And Jesus said to him

(showing compassion and forgiveness to the thief who hung on the cross next to his_

"I tell you, Today you will be with me in Paradise."

The enemy has plans to destroy friends, family members, and loved ones.

Choose to join the Lord's side and pray for freedom from the chains of bondage

that hold those we love from knowing the truth and letting it set them free.
