Elk Hill

(George & Dale Mitchell and Frank & Debbie Vaughn)

GOD IS AT WORK!!  The Mitchells and the Vaughns continue to be amazed at how God is working at Elk Hill.  A couple weeks ago a van load of boys was allowed to attend the service at the ROC (Richmond Outreach Center).  We were all blessed by Pastor G’s sermon, and we were praying for the Holy Spirit to convict the boys wherever they needed His touch.  He spoke in no uncertain terms about God being whatever we need Him to be.  His name is I AM, and Pastor G stressed over and over that whatever we need, God is that for us.  Do we need peace?  God is our Peace.  Do we need wisdom?  God is our Wisdom.  Do we need healing?  God is our Healer.  On he went with different things, saying God is that to us.  Part of his list was “Do you need a Daddy or a Mama?  God is your Daddy or Mama.”  I noticed one of the boys say, “God is my Daddy.”  He said it with awe, with comfort, with realization that God is what he needed.  That really touched me!  To top that, seven of the nine boys responded to the invitation, either for salvation or for other prayer concerns!!

We are simply wanting to put the dear boys at Elk Hill before you again and continue to ask you to lift them to the Lord in prayer, thanking Him for working there among the boys and also for the staff who continue to be supportive of our efforts to befriend the boys and have Bible study there.

George, Dale, Frank, and I feel so privileged to be used by the Lord in this ministry.

***George and Dale Mitchell from Goochland, along with Frank and Debbie Vaughn, hold Bible studies each Tuesday evening in the dining hall at Elk Hill in Goochland.   It is for any of the boys who wish to attend.  It has always been so fascinating to see the boys open up and participate in the discussions, and they are full of questions spawned by the study or from something they’ve heard somewhere along the way.
