Donna Senses a Call to Prison Ministry

Thanks to all who have wished me well on my plans to pursue We Care Ministries. I am getting excited about the possibility of going to Montgomery, Alabama, to work in the Julia Tutwiler Prison for women where  Anna Miller  is chaplain. I am interested in the position of assistant chaplain  for a year or so and then possibly move to an after care program, which is my passion.

I have plans to write a how-to manual for the ladies to refer to once they are released.  Because they have been out of the mainstream of life for an extended period of time, I would like to help them  adjust and restructure their life. Eventually, We Care Ministries would like to have an after care program where the ladies can stay for a period of time to learn skills such as communicating with others, interviewing for a job, operating a computer, dressing modestly and lots more.  I would love to be involved in this type of ministry.

I would appreciate your prayers as I discern God’s leading.  I plan to go to Atmore the last week of April to visit with Ed and Doris and meet with Dave Landis.   Stay tuned, I will be sharing more as things unfold.
