you know....

The following young people have or will be spending a
week at Highland Retreat Camp this summer: Beth, Bridgette & Sidney
Bowles, Amy Duncan, Phillip Palmore, Steven & Stephanie Pruett, and
Julia Schlosser.
-
Stephanie Pruett and Amy Duncan were chosen to play in
the Powhatan All-Star Softball Tournament. They played great and each hit
a home run! Way to go, Stephanie & Amy!

Steven Pruett traveled to Virginia Beach with the
Powhatan Fury Soccer Team to compete in the Lafayette Soccer Tournament.
They won the tournament in overtime and shoot-outs! Steven scored two
goals. Good job, Steven!
- Dawn Mills was voted in to serve on the Amelia Rescue Squad. She is also
doing great on her EMT classes!
- Kaley Kennell won third place in a district spelling bee at school.
Congratulations, Kaley!
- On March 13, John Schlosser competed with his school in an ODAC
competition in Fredericksburg. (ODACS stands for Old Dominion Association
of Christian Schools.) They won first and second place. John won a red
ribbon in NT testing (on I & II Peter). The sextet he participated in
won second place with the song, "There is a Season." His choir
won first place in its age level.
- Obie Arrington & Matthew Nice graduated from Powhatan High School
June 16. Congratulations, Obie and Matthew!
- Sylvanus and Mildred Moyer celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary
June 18!
- Bob and Marie Hertzler spent the month of June bicycling through
southern Germany and the Austrian Alps.

James Nice made the All-Star team of the Powhatan AAA
League. His team finished third in the District. Yeah, James!

Ed Ranck challenged the youth class to memorize the
golden text for each lesson. Congratulations, Nathan and Luke Landis, for
memorizing the 13 key verses.

Matthew Nice broke his foot in three places playing
tackle football while on K-Team in Baltimore

Birth
Announcement......
Steven and Megan Meadows announce the birth of their first
child, Brendan Joseph, born 3:44 a.m. July 20, 2001. Brendan weighed 9 lbs. 4
ozs. and was 21 inches long.
Paternal grandparents are Bob and Patty Meadows of Powhatan,
and maternal grandparents are Bud and Dawn Lacina of Maine.
