Matthew Featherston’s baseball team won the District
Championship in the 13-year-old bracket and placed third in the Virginia
State competition played in South Boston.

In August, Wayne Lancaster celebrated his 50th
anniversary of bricklaying. Wouldn’t it be interesting to know how many
bricks Wayne has laid???!!!

In September, Kevin Hertzler, Ben Nice and Andy Vaughn
took a two-week trip out west on their motorcycles. In Kansas, Andy’s
cycle broke down and Frank was dispatched to go pick him up. Kevin and Ben
continued on to the west coast, dipping their feet in the Pacific Ocean.

On Sept. 1, Hannah and Ron Shultz ran in the Powhatan 5 K.
Hannah was the youngest runner, but didn't finish last. She ran it in 37
minutes. Ron beat his last-year time by two minutes and finished 3rd in
his age group.
