- Congratulations to Rick Benson for making the Amelia Jr. Youth All Star
Basketball team, which came in second in the James River District.

Kayley Kennell, student at Salem Christian School, won
first place in an essay contest sponsored by the Goochland County
Elementary Schools on "Why Littering is Not Cool." Along with
the $50.00 prize, her essay was published in the December 8, 2001’ issue
of the Goochland Gazette. Congratulations, Kayley! (See Kayley’s
article on the right.)

Congratulations to Brendan Meadows on cutting his first
tooth! Brendan is almost eight months old.

Bridgette Bowles plays third base on the softball team
at Richmond Chistian School.

Pastor Tim and Bev Kennell attended a Pastors’
Couples Conference, "Joy That Lasts," organized by Gary Smalley
in Branson, Missouri. They traveled straight through in a van with four
other pastor couples from the Harrisonburg area. Bev said it was a
looooong trip, but they had a wonderful time and laughed all the way to
and from Branson. Renel and Kayley enjoyed staying several days at Grandpa
and Grandma Burkholder’s home and with friends.

Can you solve this riddle?
A granddad, who is a twin, was having trouble with a
math problem. He went to his only son for help. After they had worked it
every which way, the grandson piped up and said, "Grampa, isn't this
it?" The two fathers scratched their heads and asked, "How did
you do that?" WHO is the grandson?
