Layne Lancaster won three blue ribbons at the Powhatan Elementary Field Day at the end of the year? Congratulations, Layne!

Erin and John Pepper announce the birth of their first child, a son, Gavin Tyler, born April 8, 2002. Erin is the daughter of Greg and Ann Glacken, formerly of Powhatan.

Obe and Jill (Hertzler) Hostetter visited Andy Powell in Stormer Lake, June 21-24, 2002

Ben Powell and Nathan Landis visited Andy Powell July 18-25, 2002 Andy knew Ben was coming to be a groomsman in a friend’s wedding but was very surprised when he saw Nathan.

Steve, Anita, Caleb and Brianna have moved to Virginia from Arizona. They will be living on Don and Janet Benson’s farm in Jetersville where they will be working. Welcome, Grabers!

Sidney Bowles and Carmen Lehman attended Volleyball Camp at Liberty University July 20-25, 2002.

Stephanie Pruett and Kayley Kennell attended Highland Retreat Camp this summer.

The Walton family started coming to our church in 1983. The fall of 1985 Dickie was asked to teach the youth class. He was hooked and has been teaching ever since—17 years!!! Can anyone top his faithful record???? Thanks, Dickie!

Engaged

Richard and Brenda Walton happily announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtnie Elizabeth, to Matthew Dominic Lawrence, son of David and Sandi Lawrence of Richmond.

Courtnie is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University with a degree in English. Matthew, who resides in Chesterfield, is a graduate of VCU with a degree in graphic design; he is currently the senior graphic designer for Ukrop’s.

An April 2003 wedding is planned.
