Cupid’s Quiz

Can you figure out the names of the couples in cupid’s quiz? The answers are due on Saturday, February 8 at the Valentine’s Banquet. The person who turns in the most correct answers to Pat Hertzler will receive a chocolate heart. You may work on the quiz individually or as as couple or family. You may gleam clues from talking to persons about their experiences but you may not "combine" your answers with other people. The answers will also be published in the next Menno-Notes.

  1. This newly married couple took a ride in a blimp over Washington D.C. on their honeymoon.
  2. Although they dated for several years, he proposed to her and she accepted on their first date!
  3. This young couple became engaged at the "only Mennonite allowed" theater called "Common Glory".
  4. This young man proposed by saying, "Let’s make it legal." They called the preacher and asked if he would marry them and he said he would. When he inquired about the date of the marriage, the anxious young couple replied, "tonight!" That evening they were married and the next morning they went to work.
  5. She sneaked into his apartment and decorated it for Valentine’s Day. That evening they made cookies, which they kept burning! She could tell his heart was beating really fast and asked him if he had something he wanted to tell her. He said, "Well, actually, I was going to ask you to marry me."
  6. They dated long distance (850 miles). He came to see her on Valentine’s Day and proposed in the woods by a campfire.
  7. The father of the bride tracked down this newly married couple and called them in their motel room on the first night of their honeymoon. They have often wondered how many motels he called before he found them.
  8. This young couple kept talking about getting married and even worked on the plans even though he had not officially asked the big question. Finally she asked him, "Are we engaged?" He said, "Yes."
  9. This couple's first date was prearranged by a mutual friend. He had a picture of her that was taken when she was fifteen and dressed in old fashioned clothes and a big hat. On their first date he took along his Bible and even carried it into Friendly's Restaurant!
  10. This couple took a day trip on their first date that covered three states, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. He proposed in Florida and they were married in a fifth state.
