"Changing
Lives"
The Missions and Service Department is
sponsoring a missions awareness and support project with several objectives in
mind. One goal is to encourage local
and world missions consciousness within our families.
Whether a household has one member or more, we want to foster a daily concern for reaching out in Jesus' name.
Another purpose of the project is to bless missions efforts in
spontaneous ways as we pray in our families for God's prompting.
We also desire that "Changing" Lives will spark spiritual
renewal in our fellowship.
Families who choose to participate in the project will decorate a container
and designate it for loose change. As
you drop money in the container each day, we ask you to
pray for a missionary
family (the Shultzes, for example), Christians in another country, or a need
within our community.
Also, please ask the Lord for guidance in using the funds collected.
If the Missions and Service Department becomes aware of a particular need,
we may send out an alert and ask families to bring their change in.
Other times, individual families may sense God's nudging to support a
particular missions project.
Prayer should be the focus of our giving always, for the Holy Spirit will
bring about the real changes in people's lives as we share our nickels and dimes
with joy.

Long-time Friends Get Together
June 15
Bless
God for the love of
Friends
so true,
A love
akin to His,
Which
knows our faults and loves us still;
That’s what real friendship is

Schaefer, Powhatan |
This devotional quote was very meaningful to
Bertha Schaefer on the morning of June 15 as she gathered
with long-time friends at the
County Seat Restaurant in the village of Powhatan.
This special time of reminiscing and “catching-up” was filled with
love, laughter and blessing as they
recalled their childhood memories and school days in Denbigh.
