Sophie Anne Nice

                 Timothy, Anna and Leah Nice welcomed Sophie Anne into their family on October 19. 

             She is also welcomed by grandparents Larry & Trish Nice and Terry &  Sandy Blankenship all of Powhatan and great-grandparents Wallace and Dorcas Schaefer.

          In preparation for the women's program at Conservative Mennonite Conference's annual meeting in 2011, a small group of women have agreed to talk with each other about what it’s like to be them.  Some are single; others are divorced, married, or widowed. Some work outside the home; others work at home.   All of these women love Jesus and try to follow him.  They will be part of a yearlong conversation about God, the Bible, and their various spheres.  You are invited to join the conversation at amongwomencmc.wordpress.com.

Sunday School Lessons for January-March

In an age when those in authority are fair game for all kinds of ridicule and criticism, what is to be the Christian's response to authority? In the video series "Under Cover," taught by Jon Bevere, the author explains how being under the authority God has placed over us is the secret place of the Most High, referred to in Psalms 91.  He also explains how to respond to the unfairness and difficulties brought on by Godless leaders.  Youth through adult will be meeting as a group for the Sunday School hour January 9 through March to deal with this often unpopular subject. We will divide into smaller discussion groups each session as time allows.
