Did You Know …..
·
Marie Hertzler, Gene, Meghan and Leah Schaefer participated in a fundraiser,
Pedaled the Peninsula, for Williamsburg Christian Retreat Center in Williamsburg
May 12th. There were three routes to choose from.
The Schaefers chose the 21 mile and Marie the 34.
For Marie this ride put her over 56,000 miles on her bike.
Approximately 45 persons from all over Virginia participated in the
event. The youngest, five, and the
oldest, Lloyd Weaver, 84, both rode the 10 mile.
·
Janis Ranck along with her co-workers at Chadwick’s Orchids are traveling to
the rain forest in Costa Rica May 26-June 1.
They will be observing orchids in their natural habitat along with other
fun activities such as kayaking and hiking.

|
Marie
Hertzler and a biking friend, Patricia Daniels (who is in her 80’s) from
Paoli, PA, left Sunday morning, May 13 to bike to Ron and Cheryl
Snyder’s home in upstate western New York.
It has been a dream of Marie’s to make this trip to Cheryl’s
home.
They anticipate it will be a difficult 13 day ride because of the
mountains and hills in PA. They will take the scenic route to avoid
traffic on the main roads. They will travel between 40-50 miles a day with
the first night spent at Harold and Elaine Alderfers’ in Louisa County.
