Obituary

Dr. John Burton Nowlin

John,  a native of Charlotte, N.C. and more recently of Powhatan,  died January 8, 2009.  Dr. Nowlin practiced family practice medicine at Duke University and in Southside Virginia until his retirement in 1999.

He is survived by two brothers, Robert Nowlin of Charlotte and Preston Nowlin and his wife, Carolyn of Powhatan.

A memorial service was held January 11 at Powhatan Mennonite Church. Memorial gifts may be made to Heifer Project  International, 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72202.
