MEN’S CONFERENCE PLANNING PROGRESSES

“Sons of God” to be theme

In late January, Spiritual Leadership asked the Saturday Morning Men’s Fellowship to plan a men’s conference.  The Saturday group agreed and plans have been developing well.  The Conference will begin at 6:00 PM on Friday, April 13, and run through 9:00 PM Saturday, April 14.

We have asked Tim Kennell to be the primary speaker and he will have a series of three presentations on the theme, “Sons of God.”  Glen Landis will also have a testimony concerning the route his life has taken since his prostate cancer was diagnosed and will be leading our singing.  There is a slot for a second testimony but the speaker hasn’t been chosen yet.

The Conference will take place at Westview on the James, a Methodist conference center and camp in Goochland County.  The Lakeview Lodge and a Hogan have been reserved for meeting and sleeping.

Evening meals will be served by Joe Turner’s Barbecue and Tinsley-on-the-Go, who specializes in fish fries.  Saturday morning breakfast will be heavy continental.

Recreational opportunities will be provided and there will be some “down time” planned.  One plan has fallen through.  We had hoped to have a CPA at the Conference so that you could return home on Saturday with taxes completed.  At least you will have an extra day after the Conference to take care of the IRS!

Each man in the fellowship will receive a letter when the planning is complete.  Cost for the Conference is currently set at $57 per man.  Mark your calendars for April 13-14!
