Children’s Ministry Team (Nursery thru 8th Grade)

 Mission:  to provide children’s Christian education and spiritual growth opportunities.

I'm very encouraged to have a group of people on my team who are truly interested in children's ministry at our church and are beginning to learn how to work together as a team. It is so good to be working with others who have the same desires and concerns for our young people.

One of our most important responsibilities is Sunday School. We continue to have the  challenge of a small group of children to work with. The difficulty comes in having small class sizes and trying to meet the needs of each child. I'm thankful for our committed teachers who are doing a great job.

Activities:

· Summer Bible School: Plans for our summer Bible School are well under way for the date of June 23rd to 27th. Janis Ranck will be the leader with Tiffany Dove as her assistant.

· Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs:  We are continuing our discussion of  the Boys’ and Girls’ clubs. Because these clubs have not been going for the past couple of years, we are taking another look at our options.

· Jr. Youth (7th & 8th grade) is not meeting this year because of a very small group of kids that age.

· Children's Choir has changed somewhat because of the  ages of the ones involved. The past choir members are now ages 12 and up and are practicing and singing on their own. As some of our children get a little older, we will discuss starting a new choir.

· Nursery Care:  We are also providing a nursery during church services for babies and children through age 3. Davina Lancaster is in charge of finding people for this responsibility.
