  Mission News  

Hold Pastor Morris Baker up in fervent prayer; he has been in the hospital in Kingston, Jamaica since the end of September with serious health issues.  He also serves as the president of Jamaica Mennonite Church. Pray for him to have strength and hope in these very difficult days.

 

  Announcements  

To Our Visitors: Thank you for worshiping with us today.  You are cordially invited to remain for an extended time of fellowship over lunch.

 

Sympathy is extended to Rob and Candy Falt and their family as they grieve the passing of Rob’s mother.

 

Budget Matters: We ended 2011 with $29,465.00 after budgeted obligations were met; for this we praise God and thank our church family.  These funds will be disbursed at the Team Leader meeting Wednesday. Input from the congregation about how the money should be spent is welcome.  Please contact a member of the Spiritual Leadership Team or any team leader today to express your thoughts.

 

Youth/Young Adults: You won’t want to miss the Mystery Supper, Friday, February 17, here at the church.  Let Dawn Landis know by next Sunday if you plan to attend.

 

Sunday Morning Coffee Hour: Beginning next Sunday, February 12, only coffee and juice will be served.

Praise!  Fourteen people from our congregation are each sponsoring one or more students at Promesa School in Cusco, Peru.  Funds are still needed to purchase land for the growing school.  See any member of the Missions Team if you would like to help.

 

“Around the World” Opportunities:  Virginia Mennonite Missions recently presented two projects to our congregation: Support for Steve and Laura Campbell, serving in Montenegro; and participation in a March mission trip to Ethiopia.  If you are interested in either of these projects, please see Donna Wyatt or another member of the Missions Team.
