Keeping in Touch...

Dear Friends,

Bill and I continue to be very involved in many activities. Bill puts in many hours working with people in the community of Crossroads Church. He pastors over 100 people. There are many needs, physical, emotional, financial, and mostly spiritual.

Bill's most challenging ministry has been with substance abusers and their families, most recently with one getting out of jail and returning home to be faced with no job or place to live. He also works with those desiring to go to the mission field, and spends much time encouraging the believers to grow and become strong in the Lord. He is very active in the Northern District of the Virginia Conference, and encourages the church to be involved with other Mennonite Churches in the area. Most recently Bill preached at Valley View Mennonite near Highland Retreat. Bill also continues to work at Friendship Industries where he serves as a Job Coach (and job placement) for the disabled. He also continues to employ his engineering skills there by providing safety programs, maintaining the building, and assisting with new production processes.

I continue to teach the ladies' Sunday school class, but also continue to encourage others to teach as well. I am active in the secret sisters and prayer partner activities at Crossroads and planning to graduate with my bachelor's degree in art, in December. I am excited to have recently received a fellowship from the Virginia Museum of Fine Art to support my art pursuits. (Bill inserted this note: She was one of twelve undergraduates in the state to receive this financial award. This will certainly help pay for her education expenses next semester!)

Another recent development in our lives is that we have put a contract on a house in Timberville, VA, less than three miles from Crossroads Church. Our duplex in Harrisonburg is now on the market and Lord willing, we will sell it soon. We have been searching for a home and praying for the Lord's guidance in this decision for the past two years.

We still have fond memories of the Church in Powhatan. There will always be a special place in their heart for that body of believers. The Powhatan Congregation will always seem like home to us.

Love, Cindy
