A Day in the Life of Donna
About that time I heard a car honking its horn
behind me (honk, honk, honk), so I looked around thinking they couldn’t be
honking at me; I wasn’t doing anything wrong, so I kept talking to the Lord. I
kept hearing this horn honking and was thinking, “Man, that person is upset at
someone,” and again kept talking to the Lord. Well, then I saw this car in my
rear view mirror with this red spikey-haired lady flailing her arms out the
window of a beat up, old, in bad need of a paint job Gremlin car. There was a
fellow of some type hanging out the other window also flailing his arms. All the
while they were honking the horn. They went from the third lane of traffic all
the way over to behind me then around me (all the time honking and flailing) and
then pulled up beside me on the right. They were hanging out the window making
some hand gestures with a fist turning left then right and left again. Then they
pointed to the back of my car, still making the hand gestures left and
right. I didn't know what was going on. Suddenly I figured it out! They
were telling me I had left my keys in the trunk lock thingie. I gave them a
thumbs up and said thanks. At this point they realized they were in the
middle of the intersection but not in any lane. They wanted to go straight
but were not in line to do so. I decided to wave them on in front of me
when the light changed since they had just gone to all that trouble to let me
know my keys were in the trunk. When the light changed to green they pulled in
front of me and went on their merry way. I pulled into the next drive- way
of a business to retrieve my keys, and then it hit me! The Lord will go to
extraordinary lengths to keep one of his from losing her keys on the
Interstate and to bless the Gremlin couple with prayer. I prayed for them for
the next thirty minutes, and I am sure they are saved and in church by now.
Actually, I have continued to pray for them, and I am sure our encounter was His
design. Isn't God just humorous sometimes?
That's my
story, hope you enjoyed it. By
