Congratulations
to our 2002
High School
Graduates....
Amber Blankenship is completing her high school studies and
will be attending John Tyler Community College in the fall. She is currently
working at Dirty Hands Garden Center in Powhatan and is a vocalist for Planar
Band where she also plays the keyboard and viola.
Nathan Landis has completed his homeschooling studies and
will be graduating from ACE School of Tomorrow which is based in Texas. A
graduation ceremony, sponsored by Home Educators Association, will be Saturday,
June 15, at Richmond Marriott Hotel. Home Educators Association, a Christian
based organization will be providing the ceremony for 170 students and the
parents will issue the diploma to their own child. Nathan will be receiving an
Honors Diploma. He will be working with his family on the chicken farm this
summer.
Myron Shenk
will be graduating from Powhatan High School Saturday, June
15, at 10:00 a.m. This summer he will be working in construction with Scott
Gillenwater and going on a service trip to Puerto Rico for one week. This fall
he will going to Virginia Tech where he will be majoring in Architectural
Engineering.
Sally Stratton will be graduating
from Fuqua School on June 7 at 7:00 p.m. The ceremony will be held at Jarman
Hall, Longwood College. (There is room in the balcony for interested persons who
have not received a personal invitation). Sally has been working at Friedensheim
Dairy Farm (Rancks) and will be employed at Hertzler Farm and Feed following
graduation. This fall she plans to attend J. Sargarent Reynolds Community
College where she will be majoring in business.
Adam Vaughn will also be graduating from Powhatan High School
Saturday, June 15, at 10 a.m. He will be working in construction with Scott
Gillenwater this summer.
Brenda White will be a part of the same ceremony as Nathan,
celebrating a completion of twelve years of study. This fall she is hoping to
apply at a Community College in Hampton, VA. She is currently living with the
Glen Guyton family and working in the Day Care at Calvary Community Church.
Brenda is excited to be a part of a mission team of youth and adults traveling
to South Africa this summer. She plans to attend Thomas Nelson Community College
in Hampton this fall.
